The game is currently in Early Access on PC, Mac. Everspace 2 underwent a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign in 2019. Even though it can be frustrating at times, it never does anything that made me want to throw my Switch or controller across my room. Everspace 2 is a follow-up to Everspace, which released for PC, Mac, and Linux in 2017, with PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions following in 2018. That being said, I feel like this would be fantastic to play on a long car ride, plane ride, or any other instance where you just need to kill time.Īll in all, while I’m not sure if I’d call the Switch Everspace’s new home thanks to some of the framerate drops and weird blurriness, however, I still loved my time playing it. When you enter an instance in Everspace 2, there’s only one way out of it: by using lightspeed travel. While the original was a space combat rogue-like, the sequel is far more ambitious in scope. Everspace 2 probably isn't what you would expect, especially if you played Everspace 1. Don’t get me wrong, the game is definitely hard, even on easy mode, and towards the beginning, you may get more frustrated than normal. A narrative-driven, singleplayer openworld space shooter with RPG elements. Aim anywhere but at solid objects when using lightspeed. It might not seem like it on the surface, but Everspace 2 is a classic Witcher-style, open-world RPG through and through. For the most part, I wanted to get right back into the action. Everspace feels like it’s designed in a way to where you don’t feel discouraged if you die or lose. In the campaign, you will make some friends with their own story to tell.

The biggest reason as to why I think Everspace is great for Switch is that it’s a fantastic time killer. EVERSPACE 2 - EVERSPACE 2 is a fast-paced single-player spaceship shooter with worthwhile exploration in space and on planets, tons of loot, RPG elements, mining, and crafting. Were stuck with the first game then, I guess. During intense battles, the framerate can drop a few notches and every once and a while, the game got a bit blurry…
